Our version of this hand knoted Afghan Karachopt Kazak has an ivory octagonal center medallion inside a rectangle of deep blue and red checker-boards. The field is deep green with four prominent ivory squares filled with squares at the four corners. The main border is golden yellow with tulip and leaf motif. This rug was made in Northern Afghanistan by Turkmen people using only natural dyes and hand spun wool.
